Terry Terhark

Terry Terhark is the CEO and founder of The RightThing, Inc. He set out to develop a company that would listen, explore and address the individual needs of each client. With his twenty-plus years of experience in the recruitment industry, Terry believes that individual attention and customized service will produce the results clients expect when engaging in recruitment process outsourcing.
Terry personifies his mantra and company namesake, “Do the right thing and good things will happen,” setting the tone for company’s values, ethics and culture. He has built the foundation of The RightThing on the company’s Core Values: flexibility, adaptability, commitment to each other, accountability, empowerment and trust, and expects these values to be evident in both client and employee interaction.
Recently named an “HRO Superstar” by HRO Today magazine, Terry has had significant experience in the recruitment process outsourcing industry. Beginning his career in 1984 as an executive recruiter he followed his entrepreneurial spirit in 1990 and founded Selective Staffing, Inc. An innovator in recruitment process outsourcing, Selective Staffing quickly signed on General Electric which in turn led to many new clients, growing the company to 250 employees by 1998. In 1998, Aon Consulting acquired Selective Staffing, Inc. to bolster its own outsourcing group.
From 1998 – 2003, Terry served as senior vice president in Aon’s Employment Outsourcing Group. He played a deciding role in the Group’s first major outsourcing deal with ATT, helping Aon significantly build its market share in the human resource outsourcing industry.
In 2003, Terry founded The RightThing, Inc. to solely focus on recruitment process outsourcing. In each of its first three years of operation, The RightThing experienced more than 300 percent growth in both revenue and employees and has become a leader in this specialized industry.
