Business Need

In June 2005, a global pharmaceutical leader and The RightThing began a partnership for the hiring of sales and management positions. The hiring managers needed to spend more time in the field and less time on the burden of administrative tasks associated with staffing.

Our Strategy

The RightThing applied a technology driven RPO process that was friendly to the candidates as well as the hiring manager. The process started with the development of a customized sourcing strategy that included: posting highly effective job descriptions to internet job boards, conducting quality candidate resume searches through database mining, initiating cold calling to top candidates, encouragement of employee referrals, participation in job fairs, and utilization of local advertising outlets.  The identified candidates completed a screening process that included a pre-screen and phone interview unique to the position, and the company’s operations.  In addition, The RightThing coordinated hiring manager interviews and on-boarding processes.

The added technology solution brought significant improvements to the process by enhancing candidate communications, providing real-time reporting, delivering consistent branding, reducing the hiring manager’s administrative tasks, and significantly improving candidate quality.

  • Processed over 40,968 candidates to date
  • Decreased overall cycle time from 36 days to 25 days
  • Hired 670 sales representatives and sales managers to date

Sustaining the Success

The RightThing takes pride in their partnership approach. We work with each hiring manager to find that “ideal” candidate and we present a slate of candidates to the manager within 14 days. Managers are able to spend more time in the field with their reps and less time spent on the administrative burden of hiring.
