The RightThing, the leader in recruitment process outsourcing, (RPO) announced today the release of a new benchmark report, “RPO: The Ins and Outs of Recruitment Process Outsourcing,” by Aberdeen Group, a Harte-Hanks company (NYSE:HHS). The report, sponsored by The RightThing, examines how best-in-class organizations around the world effectively manage recruitment process outsourcing initiatives through internal policies, practices and procedures. It also looks at the primary force motivating companies to switch to RPO and the key performance indicators that measure a successful partnership.

Compiling data from over 200 world-class organizations, the report enumerates how the implementation of RPO and its ability to deliver high quality results, has helped to overcome the challenges of cost and performance in the recruitment/hiring process which in turn, helps key internal HR resources refocus on higher level organizational competencies.

By focusing internal HR resources on core HR elements such as managing payroll, compensation, and benefits, Best-in-Class organizations ensure that the existing workforce is sufficiently served from an HR perspective, and this positively impacts employee satisfaction”, said Kevin Martin, research director, human capital management at Aberdeen. “Best-in-Class organizations also realize that excellence in pre-hire initiatives is essential for improving quality of hires which, in turn, increases hiring manager satisfaction. These examples highlight how Best-in-Class utilize RPO to improve pre- and post-hire elements of their business.”

The findings conclude that those companies attaining Aberdeen’s Best-in-class distinction, (based on year-over-year performance improvement across specific key performance indicators), in RPO, all shared several commonalities and significant performance gains in quality of hire, time to fill, quality of candidate and hiring manager satisfaction.

In addition, the report studied the role RPO providers play in assisting clients build their overall employment brand and reputation. They found that most organizations are well aware of how  they are perceived by their employees and prospectives which was another driving force behind the demand for superior performance throughout the end-to-end hiring process.

Aberdeen’s findings further emphasize the demand for higher quality across the board which is consistent with what we’ve seen and heard from our own clients.” Said Terry Terhark, president and CEO of The RightThing. “These findings can be used as a critical tool in establishing our future strategies and help us to understand the way RPO is evolving.”
