In the spirit of the national giving campaign promoted by Oprah Winfrey as “The Big Give,” employees from The RightThing, Inc. the leader in recruitment training, technology and outsourcing, have come together to raise over $2,000 in supplies for the Child Protective Services (CPS) of Hancock County. The supplies will be used for children coming into foster care on an emergency basis. The RightThing will also be presenting a check to CPS this Friday, June 6.
“As a member of the community, The RightThing has made it a priority to give back.” said Terry Terhark, CEO of The RightThing. “As a business leader, our success is not only measured by company achievements and employee satisfaction but also social responsibility.”
With over 74 children currently living in temporary or permanent foster care in Hancock County, CPS relies on outside donations to help with children coming into emergency foster care. Supplies donated by The RightThing include diapers, socks, underwear, pajamas and gym clothes.
"CPS is grateful for donations and community support of children in foster care,” said Diana Hoover, Administrator of Child Protective Services of Hancock County Job & Family Service. “The current number of children in the agencies temporary or permanent custody has risen 83% from 2006 and 175% from 2000."
